Our Mission

As a nonprofit organization, Rogue Valley Affordable Homes is committed to addressing the critical need for low-income housing in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley. We work to develop safe, sustainable, affordable homes for working families facing economic hardship.

By reducing housing costs, we help ensure that families have more disposable income for essentials like food, childcare, healthcare, education, and savings. Affordable rents allow families to breathe easier financially, invest in their children’s future, and participate more fully in the local economy. Our mission is not only to build homes, but to create the conditions for long-term family wellbeing, upward mobility, and a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.

We aim to rent small homes to low income families with school age children or younger for 3-5 years at 30% of area household income. It is transitional housing to secure a rental history while people save up for a more permanent move or buying a house.

Rogue Valley Affordable Homes, Inc: Current Project

Rogue Valley Affordable Homes is currently trying to develop 1 acre of land at 318 Lozier Lane with six 3 bedroom, 2 bath small homes around 1200 square feet and six 2bedroom 1 bath ADU homes around 900 square feet. This land has been zoned and annexed by the city of Medford for development. RVAH is a 501c3 non-profit with 100% all-volunteers with no profit motive. We will charge 30% of AMI for rent to families with school age children who are working or have sustainable income and follow simple rules of neighborhood living. Adults over 18 and able-bodied  should have paying jobs to improve their circumstances and save for their own home. We feel that this housing will provide stable living conditions while children are growing up and inspire their parent(s) to save enough money to buy a home of their own by providing financial counselling with bankers to help achieve that goal.
